RTY Hospital: Dwayne Medical Center

Objective: Students will be able to find the validity of websites after navigating through the site www.rythospital.com. Sutdents will learn to check the validity of websites (like Dwayne Medical Center's website) by using search engines to support the reliability of a website.

Activity and Procedure:
1. Start by going to the website www.rythospital.com.
2. Next answer the below questions by exploring the above website, and using the search engines, www.yahooligan.com, www.google.com, and www.ajforkids.com.

a) What are NanoDocs? Find one other website
that explains and supports the information given about NanoDocs on the Dwayne Medical Center's website.

b) Locate the address of Dwayne Medical Center using www.maps.google.com or the other search engines above.

c)
After locating the Dwayne University Medical College (a Dwayne Medical Center affiliate) website, find support of the research being completed at the university for the medical center.

Results:
a) There is no discussion of NanoDocs that supports the actual use of NanoDocs at any hospital. There are sites that discuss the use of NanoDocs (that have yet to be invented) in the future, but there is no evidence to support the actual use of NanoDocs.

b)When Dwayne Medical Center's address was searched, there was no conclusive information on an address or even location on a map for the center.

c)Using the search engines above, there was no information found on the Dwayne University Medical College. There was no website for the college or mention that it even exists. Thus there is no research being done at the nonexistent university for the medical center.

With the above information, students should conclude that the RTY Hospital: Dwayne Medical Center does not exist and therefore the website for the hospital is not a valid source of information and should not be used to site information from.

  1. a) When i search NanoDocs the first site that comes up is the RYT Hospital site. Besides this obviously invalid site, there is not other scholarly sourch to support information on NanoDocs that we find on the RYT site.

    b) When I searched Dwayne Medical Center on mapquest there was not even an exact match to find the address. This leads me to question whether or not this place even exists

    c) When searching Dwayne University Medical College the only site, again, that came up on the search was the site being tested in this activity. This medical college doesn't even seem to exist so it is obviously very difficult to find any support research being done there.

This was a great activity to test the validity and reliability of rythospital.com. By attempting to answer these questions it made it clear that this site is not reliable and it should never be used by students when completely school work.
